Why Diamond

WHY DIAMOND?

WHY THE NAME?

The name of my business sums up what I am all about.  I offer real quality with a sharp edge and bit of a sparkle in everything I do. My core values are:

  • Quality. This is at the heart of all my work

  • Focus on results. A diamond can cut through anything

  • Creativity and flexibility. Just as you can cut and mount diamonds in different ways I will adapt what I do to meet your needs, rather than giving you a ‘one size fits all approach’

Like a diamond your leaders and teams:

  • Are valuable

  • Have numerous different facets

  • Need polishing to reach their full potential

I apply Albert Einstein's principle that ‘everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler’ to everything I do.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

Since my work is bespoke I don't have a fixed rate of charges.  It is best if you contact me  for a confidential, no obligation discussion.  This could be at your office or on the telephone.  This initial discussion is always free and gives me the chance to understand more about your organisation, and your specific needs.   If following that discussion it seems I can help you I will send you a detailed proposal.  The price quoted will be based on what will be delivered for you; I don't charge extra for getting to know your business or preparing materials.  The only additional costs will be travel and any costs I have to pay to third parties (e.g.. if you want MBTI reports, or a 'Dartmoor Challenge') and these will be clearly detailed in any proposal.  There are no hidden extras!  Results are important to me so I always provide a free e-mail or telephone follow up service to clients to help embed learning.

Since quality is so important to me, I will always tell you if I think someone else could provide a better service for you.  I understand the pressures on budgets, particularly in the voluntary and public sectors, and I'm always happy to explore creative solutions with you to ensure you get value for money within financial restrictions.

WHO IS INVOLVED?

Mark Robertson

I have over 20 years experience of working at a senior level in a national voluntary organisation and the NHS. My major strength is my vision and imagination, based on intuition. I see how things fit into the ‘big picture’ even when unfamiliar with the details. I like to help leaders address complex and ambiguous problems. When training and facilitating I focus on creating high challenge/high support learning environments that really engage people and bring out the best in them. I’m particularly interested in how to ‘manage difference’, build resilience, and use conflict constructively. I have qualifications in training and action learning and am accredited to use the Myers Briggs Type Instrument (MBTI) and Margerison McCann Team Management System (TMS). I am a member of the CIPD and ILM (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and Institute of Leadership and Management).

I also have a small team of trusted Associates who I can call on for larger projects, or where co-working or their specialist skills are required.
